Children aged 12 and over are considered as adults. An Adult or Child pass holder can support up to 2 infants, aged 5 and under for free. Additional charges will apply for more infants.

You'll have to reserve your seats. You can collect reserved seats at the ticket office (at the station) by showing your JR Pass. You can skip ticketing lines and collect your tickets at the reserved seat ticket machine.
